Chicago shooting and murders

 There were two major shooting incidents recently reported in Chicago:

🔴 Downtown Mass Shooting (July 3, 2025) A tragic mass shooting occurred outside the Artis Lounge nightclub in River North during an album release party for rapper Mello Buckzz.

• At least 3 people were killed and 16 others injured in what appears to be a drive-by shooting

• The incident happened around 12:37 AM near 311 W Chicago Avenue

• Videos circulating online captured over 16 gunshots, and emergency services labeled it a “Mass Casualty Incident”.

• 🔴 West Side Shooting (June 25, 2025) In a separate case, a 46-year-old man was fatally shot on South Springfield Avenue.

  • The suspect, identified as Mars, was arrested and is due in court for a detention hearing

  • The motive remains unclear, but police confirmed it was a targeted attack
